DGVCL empowers millions of homes by distributing electricity to seven districts in south Gujarat. The Company with its varied consumer-base and terrains caters to over 28.40 lakh consumers with annual growth rate (in consumer base) of about 4.57%. On one hand, DGVCL encompasses one of the most industrialized regions falling in the golden corridor of Gujarat besides ever increasing urban areas and on the other hand it’s tribal belt, agriculture land and forest areas to serve. Such consumer-mix sets DGVCL’s role as a state power distribution utility apart from private utilities which cater to only urban landscape.
With an aim to provide our valued consumers with quality and sustainable power supply, DGVCL’s Management has been making all efforts towards system upgradation, infrastructural betterment and continuous improvement in consumer services. In the same vein, the Company has undertaken various measures such as establishment of new sub-stations (in coordination with GETCO), adoption of HVDS system, laying underground cable network with RMUs, overhead aerial bunch conductors in place of bare conductors, increasing number of field offices and staff, creation of centralized customer care centre and various online services and single window concept like Vij Seva Kendras.
