The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) was established by the Act No.14 of 1994 passed by the Gujarat State Legislature, and assented to by the Governor of Gujarat on 27th July, 1994. The BAOU is the seventh Open University in the country in terms of their establishment. The University offers 72 programmes with an enrolment of more than 1,00,000 learners.
The headquarters of the university is located at Ahmedabad. The University has established Regional Centre on the campus of South Gujarat University, Rajkot and has initiated the process of another establishing Regional centre on the campus of North Gujarat University, Patan. The University has more than 507 study centers. It has jurisdiction over the whole state of Gujarat. It is open to all persons irrespective of classes, castes, creed, religion or sex.

Provide opportunities for higher education to a large segment of the population,

Programme-wise Merit Lists of the candidates for admission to M.A. Hindi and M.A. English have been put up on the website www.curaj.ac.in separately. The list comprises of the names of even those candidates who have not provided their UG Marks. However, the candidates must note that the ranking in the Merit Lists is likely to change on updation of data and verification of the relevant documents.
The participation in the Counselling-cum-Admission Session and subsequently admission to the PG Programmes offered by the University are subject to the fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria as laid down by the University for admission to the respective programmes and verification of the relevant certificates.
 A candidate who has applied for admission to any of the PG Programmes of Central University of Rajasthan, has appeared for the CUCET 2013 test (held on 15th/16th June 2013), has net merit within the range of the candidates called for the Counselling-cum-Admission Session for the Programme he/she has applied for, but whose name does not appear in the Merit List or in the list of the candidates called for Counselling-cum-Admission session, can attend the Session on the day and time specified. He/she will be considered on merit, subject to verification of all the relevant documents.
 Opportunity will be given to provide marks at the qualifying examination to those who have not already done so, prior to counselling-cum-admission session.
The merit list is provisional and will be revised taking into account the data provided by the students on the counselling day. The revised merit will be the basis for selection.
Admission is provisional and is subject to satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria, verification of relevant certificates, mark sheets, score cards, and other conditions.
Only those who are called for the Counselling-cum-Admission Session, who have the required merit and are physically present at the Session on the day and time specified will be considered for admission. Those who are not present will not be considered.
Students who are offered admission, will have to submit the relevant certificates (as given below) in original, pay the necessary fees for the First Semester immediately on the same day in cash, failing which their admission will be cancelled. They will forfeit their right to admission, and the seat will be offered to the next eligible student in the order of merit. No partial payment of fee is acceptable. It may be noted that the University campus hosts Bank of India, CU Raj Branch as well as the Bank of India’s ATM facility, which can be availed of, if required.
 If, in a Programme, if all reserved category candidates are called for the Counselling-cum-Admission Session, and if one or more seats in a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) remain vacant, and no student from the concerned category is present at the Session or is present but not accepting the admission offer, such vacant seats will be inter-converted and converted to General Category as per norms and will be filled accordingly in the same Session.
·         If all the seats in a programme are filled, the Programme-wise Waiting Lists will be prepared on the basis of merit of the students who are called and present at the Counselling Session.  In case a seat becomes vacant due to cancellation, it will be offered to the students in order of merit in the Waiting List.
·         Second Session of Counselling-cum-Admission will be held only if seats remain vacant after all the Waiting List is exhausted.

Commissionerate of Tribal Development has been established in 1982 under Tribal Development Department to oversee the overall monitoring and supervision of the progress of the all tribal development programs. The Commissioner is assisted by Deputy Commissioner and Director, PTG and Joint Director, FRA. There are 8 Deputy Director and one Accounts Officer in CoTD who assist in day to day working.
The Commissioner, Tribal Development is the chief controlling officer for departmental budget sanctions and allocations as well as implements and monitors progress of all tribal developmental programs within the State. The Commissioner, in collaboration with other departments, implements Vanbhandhu Kalayan Yojana, Tribal Sub Plan and Constitutional safeguards for the tribes in the state.




Commissionerate formulates schemes for welfare and development of dispersed tribal communities including the Primitive Tribes and undertakes relevant implementation activities. It also performs co-coordination functions with respect to all TSP related matters and where necessary, between Collectors, Project Administrators, District Development Officers and any other officers/agencies at the district level; with the technical and administrative Heads of Departments at the regional or State level; with the Tribal Development Corporation, banks and any other agencies involved in Tribal Sub Plan activities for ensuring speedy implementation of the schemes, removal of bottlenecks and securing of funds including institutional finance. All relevant tribal related activity monitoring, implementation and evaluation falls under the purview of CoTD.

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was popularly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar and everyone knows that he was one of the architects of the Indian Constitution. He was a very well-known political leader, eminent jurist, Buddhist activist, philosopher, anthropologist, historian, orator, writer, economist, scholar and editor, too. Dr. Ambedkar fought to eradicate the social evils like untouchability and for the rights of the dalits and other socially backward classes throughout his life. Dr. Ambedkar was appointed as India's first Law Minister in the Cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru. He was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour in 1990.

Early Life
Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on 14 April 1891 in Madhya Pradesh. He was the fourteenth child of his parents. Ambedkar's father Ramji was a Subedar in the Indian Army and posted at Mhow cantonment, MP. Ambedkar had to face severe discriminations from every corner of the society as his parents hailed from the Hindu Mahar caste. Mahar cast was viewed as "untouchable" by the upper class.


The discrimination and humiliation haunted Ambedkar even at the Army school, run by British government. Discrimination followed wherever he went. In 1908, Ambedkar went to study at the Elphinstone College, Mumbai. Ambedkar obtained a scholarship of twenty five rupees a month from the Gayakwad ruler of Baroda, Sayaji Rao III.

He graduated in Political Science and Economics from the Bombay University in 1912. Ambedkar went to USA for higher studies.

Fight For Justice
After coming back from US, Ambedkar was appointed as the Defence secretary to the King of Baroda. He had to face the humiliation for being an 'Untouchable' even at Baroda. To continue his further studies, in 1920 he went to England at his own expenses.

He was awarded honour of D.Sc. by the London University. On 8 June, 1927, he was awarded a Doctorate by the University of Columbia.
After returning to India, Bhimrao Ambedkar observed that cast discrimination was almost fragmenting the Nation so he decided to fight against it. Ambedkar favoured the concept of providing reservations for Dalits and other religious communities.Ambedkar, in wake of reaching to the people and making them understand the drawbacks of the prevailing social evils, launched a newspaper called "Mooknayaka" (leader of the silent). Once after hearing his speech at a rally, Shahu IV, an influential ruler of Kolhapur dined with the leader. This incident had created a huge uproar in the socio-political arena of the country.

Recognition
Ambedkar strongly believed that education should be provided to all sections of the society. B. R. Ambedkar Open University was established by an act of Andhra Pradesh State legislature on 26th August 1982. Well known director Jabbar Patel directed a movie on Ambedkar's life and teachings in English which was later dubbed in Hindi and other Indian languages.

Since 1954-55 Ambedkar was suffering from serious health problems including diabetes and weak eyesight. On 6 December, 1956 he died at his home in Delhi. Dr. Ambedkar's name remains a sign of victory of the down-trodden and long-exploited.
